Season's greetings, everyone ... Christmas is upon us and at last, amidst the festive crush, I have a moment to share an update.

In early November, I had a wonderful experience representing 'Seven Seas of Writing' in public for the first time, at the inaugural Sunshine Coast Fiction Festival. Highlights were meeting other writers in the fantasy (and romantasy) space, as well as avid readers and fellow indie authors I have hitherto only known online.

I'll be honest and say that sales from that event won't send me into the stratosphere of the rich and famous, though I did come away undoubtedly enriched by the opportunity to forge new and stronger contacts within the industry.

Shortly after the Festival, I finalised the edits and polishing touches for the 'Singalongs & Lullabies' manuscript. Upon submitting it to Sid Harta Publishers - who have helped me bring 'The King of Rhye' and 'Metropolis' into the real world - I was shocked and dismayed to learn that Mr Kerry Collison, Senior Editor, sadly passed away earlier this year. Efforts on the part of Kerry's family to keep the company afloat were unsuccessful, and Sid Harta went into receivership only in October.

Luke Harris, graphic designer previously contracted to Sid Harta, came to the rescue. With his help, I am proud to say I will still be able to produce a novel of the same calibre as its predecessors, as well as publish an e-book and upload to print-on-demand services worldwide.

That brings me to December, and he news with which many of you will already be familiar: the beginning of the month saw my cover reveal for 'Singalongs & Lullabies.' I am extremely proud of it, and of Luc Hudson's efforts in realising my visions. It will be a true 'gatefold' cover, wrapping around to enhance the experience and provide a callback for fans of Queen's later career with Freddie Mercury.
